This cultured fresh dairy product has it’s roots in Germany and western Austria. Along with being a staple in the European diet it is also used in recipes for both sweet and savory products. It is similar to American Cream Cheese, but fresher, a bit tangier and lower in far. The ingredient list for quark is short and sweet, “pasteurized cultured milk, rennet, and salt”. At Argyle Cheese Farmer we sell it in 8 and 16 oz. containers in addition using it as a base for all our dips and spreads and it is the major ingredient in our cheesecakes.

Herb and Garlic Sun-Dried Tomato and Chives

This cheese spread is made by combining Quark, butter and some seasonings. It is a great spread on bagels, crackers and bread. Other uses include putting a couple of spoonfuls on top of hot pasta, or even topping a baked potato or sweet corn with it.
